How to Create Lasting Change in Life and Business

“Hi! I do want to share a little bit about some of the frameworks that I personally use in my own business and in those of my clients. This framework actually helps you elicit where you are most stuck, so if you are experiencing challenges like many business owners, the most common challenge would be around revenue growth or profitability. Right? But for many of us to challenges might be around people and culture and leadership and growth and product strategy…. you name it… every day in businesses a new challenge right? That’s what the business is about. It’s a new challenge every day. So the question becomes, “How can we have a framework? A methodology, that actually allows us to first find out where are we most stuck and then secondly use that information to actually unpack and open up and solve those challenges and problems.”
So I’m gonna share about is something known as logical levels of change. It’s a framework that has been created in the __world and it basically relies on the on that one statement that Einstein said that you cannot solve the problems at the same level the day we created that.
So this framework will help you hopefully understand that unpack a lot more of way your challenge desire in your business. Now, the way this starts is that there are six levels of change, where change can be implemented. So, to jump straight into it, the lowest level of change that we can have in any system in any place is an environmental change right? Environmental change is the lowest level of change so let’s say you are working from your office today. Let’s say tomorrow you decide to wake up and go and walk at the cafe or at the co-working space or at the friend’s house. Right? The experience that you gonna have at all these different locations is gonna be significantly different.
Now, that’s a very minimal low level change that can be implemented quite easily. However, even though it has an impact on how your experience of that’s gonna be, it’s not necessarily a sustainable change. Right? What do we mean by that? How long can it keep on doing that? How long if a business is seeking a long term change, then changing its environment day and day out is not something that’s sustainable. This is when we need to start looking at the level that’s one level about the environmental change. And level that’s one level about environmental change is what we called behavioral change. When we behave differently, we find ourselves in a different environment. So let’s say, if you are someone who loves to speak French, it’s very likely and is highly likely that you will find yourself in an environment where French is easily spoken and accepted. You might be travelling to France and there you might get an opportunity to actually exercise your French. Right?
Now you might ask, what is it that allows us to have a certain behavior? That’s a great question because the level that’s about behavioral change, is what we known as a capability change. That when we start acquiring capabilities, we automatically start behaving and as a result of that we express those behaviors in an environment that supports everything. So you can see where we are going with this right? That the lowest level of changes the environmental change that you are looking for in your business or life is actually influence by your behavior and then your behavior is influenced by your capabilities. Are you capable enough to do that?
Now, I get it that it’s easy to identify when the environment and the capability and the behaviors are more tangible. Right? Like accounting skills or cold calling or things like that. But there a lot of other behaviors that we do unconsciously that are more emotional behaviors and emotional capabilities as well.
How can we influence someone? Do you find it easy to go out there and sell your services without fear of rejection? That to me is an emotional capability that can be influence change and modified. Right? So you might ask, “What is it that allows us to actually have the capabilities in the first place?”. So this is like the level for a change and as we go higher and higher we gonna go a little bit out there a bit ___ so don’t be too alarmed but it works together it comes together quite nicely.
So the next level of change that we look at that actually influences our capability is our belief system. So let’s say you are somebody who selling professional services or coaching or anything that’s high and high value. If you are sitting in front of your potential leads or prospects and trying to sell a ten thousand dollar per month coaching package for example. But in your heart of hearts you don’t believe that that’s what you are worth or you don’t believe that that’s what you can deliver, you will never ever be able to sit in that energy and actually influence and be capable to be able to sell that. No matter how good of a sales process you may have done. We can always of course we can go into more detail in our next few videos or how we gonna unpack that belief system and we can install a new one but what I am trying to say here is that it’s replaceable. When we started just think your belief systems around that you are worth ten thousand, twenty thousand, hundred thousand, a worth of a __ or a number of choice.
We can start influencing your capabilities and your behavior and as a result, your environment. Right? So one sure environment starts to show that wealth and that cash flow, you will automatically starts feeling it back into your business and your capability and your belief system will kind of ___ and recycle itself to the next level up.
So those are the four levels of changes. Now the – here it gets the next level up got gets really really deep. What we call this is identity level change. When who you are, anything that we say is an identities and I am statement. Right? It could be, I am awesome, I am handsome, I am successful, I am beautiful, what about it that may be for you? When that level of identity has been courted at the certain level, no matter how much you change your beliefs, your capabilities and your environment. Somehow it’s like a bit of your lasting __ that resets everything back to that identity. Because in with that identities that we want to stay congruent with who we are, we wake up and we don’t have to feel any different about it. That’s the identity.
So, that’s the next deepest level of change. That who you are? How is that influencing everything deep down? Right? Now, this is where things get really magical because when we start moving into the next level of change, known as what is it that causes our identity to be found in the first place? We call that as systemic change. We call it as a system. The system in which you have been born into and this system has many many many elements to it. Right? It can be your culture, it can be your family of origin, it can be your spiritual aspects to you. All that is the system in which you have taken birth and you have formed your identity.
So in we start actually and all of these is programmable, all of these are changeable. One you learn how to identify where you are most stuck at? Then we can start making those changes at that level and this is one of the things that I do in my life and my business with the executive business owners. Is where we actually go and elicit how is it that your environmental or a physical program really stemming from a systemic level. Cause once you change the whole system, automatically the environment has to change.
To give you a good example, I’m gonna be covering this a lot more in my next Ecosystem video. To give you an example that if as we are talking about climate change as a big topic right? And how changes in the environment and the climate are actually affecting the flora, and the fauna, and the wildlife and the Ecosystems everywhere. That’s a great example of how something that a systemic is actually something that is environmentally deep down.
So here’s my take away for you. Take a moment to think about where are you feeling most stuck in your business? Are you not getting enough leads? Are you not able to exercise enough influence on the decision makers out there? Are you losing money constantly or you get take two steps forward and three steps back?
Find out where are you most stuck and then apply this framework to see where is that you need the most help it. Are you – is your behavior okay but you are not feeling congruent with the capabilities? Is your belief system getting in the way of your behaviors and your capabilities? Take that, apply to your business or life and you will be amaze how you can find the next level up and when you ask those questions what has caused this, it put change as based of actually resolving those challenges.
